Our ECB's are manufactured with only top quality, organic, agricultural straw fibers. A single or double net is then stitched to the topside or both sides of the ECB. A variety of nettings are available depending on your project requirements. We offer a green colour-coded plastic netting for applications requiring UV resistance, strength, and longevity. Our photodegradable netting is recommended for urban use and is a very popular choice on certain roadside projects. It is color-coded white to identify it as a rapid-breakdown, polypropylene netting designed for use in areas to be mowed. Also available is our 100% biodegradable netting - for use in critical environmentally sensitive areas.

Material Characteristics

Our Straw Blankets are biodegradable consisting of the finest straw fibers available. Depending on job site requirements, an environmentally sensitive, and stronger netting types are available.  At a standard width of 8 feet, which is 18 inches wider than conventional straw blankets, our Straw Blankets are specifically designed to provide you with the most effective installation widths available. Lightweight and easy to handle, you can rely on our Straw Blankets to hold their own in the everyday, basic applications.


Our Single Net Straw blankets utilize a single net structure on the top of the straw and are used in low maintenance areas such as subtle grades, swales and roadside slopes and ideal for 3:1 slopes or flatter with low flow runoff.

They are also come with accelerated netting, where a fast degradable net is required for areas such as for close mowing and golf courses and bio-degradable netting where sensitive bio-engineering is required, such as landfills.

Our Double Net Straw blankets have an integrated netting on the top and bottom of the straw and are used in moderate flow channels and slopes of 2:1 or flatter.

They also come with accelerated netting and bio-degradable netting.
